(Overcome
by Events)
How far would you go to spill a dark secret -- or to keep it?
OBE (Overcome by Events) is a new play by Richard Byrne. Set in Washington DC in a sizzling summmer heat wave, OBE traces a mad scramble that ensues when a whistleblower rips the lid off an intelligence scandal that becomes the perfect fodder for the 24-hour news cycle. Will journalists who cover the story get to the bottom of it? Or can the bureaucrats and spin doctors cover it up?
OBE (Overcome by Events) will have two readings in February 2018 in First Draft at The Rose Theatre
-- an acclaimed new play development series:
-
Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Arts Club of Washington (Reading 7:30 p.m.; Doors 7 p.m.)
-
Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Theatre on the Run in Shirlington (Reading 7:30 p.m.; Doors 7 p.m.)
Admission to the readings is FREE, but it is highly recommended that you reserve a seat. Click here to do that.
